ALGS: 2024 Split 2 Playoffs

1. Group Stage (August 29 - 30)

• Structure: The 40 participating teams are divided into 4 even groups of 10 teams each.

• Format: Round-robin format, meaning every group plays against all other groups.

• Match Count: Each team plays in 3 Match Series, totaling 18 games during this stage.

• Progression: No teams are eliminated here. All 40 teams advance to the Bracket Stage based on their overall Group Stage scores:

  • Top 20 teams advance straight to the Winners Bracket.

  • Bottom 20 teams drop down to the Losers Bracket - Round 1.

2. Bracket Stage (August 31)

This stage features a double-elimination bracket played out in single-match series:

• Winners Bracket: The top 20 teams from the Group Stage face off.

  • Top 10 teams secure a direct spot in the Finals.

  • Bottom 10 teams drop down to Losers Bracket - Round 2.

• Losers Bracket - Round 1: The bottom 20 teams from the Group Stage fight for survival.

  • Top 10 teams move up to Losers Bracket - Round 2.

  • Bottom 10 teams are eliminated from the tournament.

• Losers Bracket - Round 2: Consists of the bottom 10 teams from the Winners Bracket and the top 10 teams from Losers Bracket - Round 1.

  • Top 10 teams claim the final spots in the Finals.

  • Bottom 10 teams are eliminated from the tournament.

3. Finals (September 1)

• Structure: The remaining 20 elite teams battle it out in the high-stakes Match Point Format.

• The Rule: There is no fixed match limit. To win the championship, a team must first reach a threshold of 50 points, and then secure a 1st-place finish (Champions) in a subsequent match.

• Ranking: Once the winner is crowned, the remaining teams are ranked 2nd through 20th based on their total accumulated points throughout the series.
