Tournament System: Double-Elimination Bracket

A Double-Elimination tournament means that a player must lose two matches to be completely eliminated from the competition. The bracket is divided into two main paths:

1. Upper Bracket (Winners Bracket)

• All players start here.

• As long as a player keeps winning, they progress through the UB Semifinals and Upper Bracket Final.

• If a player loses a match in the Upper Bracket, they are not eliminated; instead, they drop down to the Lower Bracket.

• Example: GO1 won the UB Semifinal but lost to gachikun in the Upper Bracket Final, dropping down to the Lower Bracket Final.

2. Lower Bracket (Losers Bracket)

• This is a "second chance" bracket for players who have lost one match.

• It consists of multiple rounds: Lower Bracket Round 1, LB Quarterfinals, LB Semifinal, and Lower Bracket Final.

• If a player loses a match in the Lower Bracket, they are officially eliminated from the tournament.

• Example: Micky lost in the UB Semifinals, dropped to the Lower Bracket, and won three consecutive matches (against HotDog29, Kobayan, and GO1) to make it all the way to the Grand Final.

3. Grand Final

• The Grand Final features the winner of the Upper Bracket (gachikun) facing the winner of the Lower Bracket (Micky).

• The Rules of the Grand Final:

  • Because it is a double-elimination tournament, the player coming from the Lower Bracket (Micky) must win two separate match series to win the tournament (this is called "resetting the bracket").

  • The player coming from the Upper Bracket (gachikun) only needs to win one match series to become the champion, as they haven't lost a single match yet.
