Tournament Format: Double-Elimination

A Double-Elimination tournament format splits competitors into two distinct brackets: the Upper Bracket (Winners Bracket) and the Lower Bracket (Losers Bracket). A player is only fully eliminated from the tournament after losing two match series.

1. Upper Bracket (UB)

• All players in the finals phase start here.

• Winning a match series allows the player to advance further in the Upper Bracket.

• Losing a match series sends the player down into a specific round of the Lower Bracket, granting them a second opportunity to stay in the competition.

• Example from the image: Mulgold won against Rangchu (3−0) in the UB Semifinals, advanced to the Upper Bracket Final to defeat Arslan Ash (3−2), and secured a direct spot in the Grand Final.

2. Lower Bracket (LB)

• This bracket features players who have lost once in the Upper Bracket fighting against survivors of previous Lower Bracket elimination rounds.

• A loss in the Lower Bracket results in immediate, final elimination from the entire tournament.

• Example from the image: KEISUKE started his run in Lower Bracket Round 1, winning consecutive elimination series against double, Rangchu, kkokkoma, and Arslan Ash to complete a run all the way to the Grand Final.

3. Grand Final

• The undefeated winner of the Upper Bracket (Mulgold) faces the ultimate survivor of the Lower Bracket (KEISUKE).

• To win the entire tournament, the Lower Bracket finalist usually needs to win two consecutive match series back-to-back (referred to as "resetting the bracket") because they already carry one loss. The Upper Bracket finalist only needs to win a single match series to claim the overall championship.
