BLAST R6 Major Munich 2025

Swiss Stage (November 8 – 11, 2025)

The main phase of the tournament utilizes a 16-team Swiss System format to filter the field, where teams with identical win-loss records are repeatedly matched against one another.

• Match Style:

  • High-stakes Promotion and Elimination matches (where a team is playing to either advance or avoid knockout) are contested as Best-of-3 (Bo3) series.

  • All other standard regulatory rounds are played as fast-paced Best-of-1 (Bo1) matches.

• Complex Seeding & Advancement Outcomes: Instead of a standard cut-off, the final Swiss standings distribute teams directly into specific starting positions for the final bracket:

  • Top 2 Teams (1st & 2nd): Secure premium placement, qualifying directly to the Upper Bracket Semifinals of the Finals.

  • 3rd to 6th Place Teams: Qualify to the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals of the Finals.

  • 7th & 8th Place Teams: Barely survive the stage, qualifying to the treacherous Lower Bracket Round 1 of the Finals.

  • Remaining Teams (9th – 16th): Eliminated from the tournament.

Finals (November 12 – 16, 2025)

The tournament culminates in a dramatic live-audience phase featuring the 8 surviving squads battling through an unforgiving bracket structure.

• Format: An 8-team Hybrid Double-Elimination Bracket, giving upper-seeded teams a safety net while punishing lower seeds with immediate elimination.

• Match Style (Standard Rounds): To ensure competitive integrity, all matches throughout the bracket phase—excluding the ultimate showdown—are played as Best-of-3 (Bo3) series.

The Grand Final

The ultimate crowning match of the Major scales up the competitive requirements to determine the undisputed champion.

• Match Style: The Grand Final is contested as an extended Best-of-5 (Bo5) series.

• Overtime Rules: The final series utilizes standard infinite overtime rules, ensuring the champion must win by a clear margin of two rounds without any artificial tiebreakers or map advantages.
