ALGS: 2023 Split 2 Playoffs

1. Group Stage (July 13th – 14th)

• Format: 40 teams are divided equally into four groups of 10.

• Matches: Each group plays a 6-game series against every other group, totaling 18 games per team.

• Advancement: All 40 teams move to the Bracket Stage based on their cumulative scores:

  • Top 20 teams advance directly to the Winners Bracket.

  • Bottom 20 teams drop to Losers Bracket Round 1.

2. Bracket Stage (July 15th)

This stage consists of three separate 6-game series determining who secures a spot in the Finals or faces elimination:

• Winners Bracket: The top 10 teams advance straight to the Finals. The bottom 10 teams drop to Losers Bracket Round 2.

• Losers Bracket Round 1: The top 10 teams advance to Losers Bracket Round 2. The bottom 10 teams are eliminated.

• Losers Bracket Round 2: The top 10 teams secure the final spots in the Finals. The bottom 10 teams are eliminated.

3. Finals (July 16th)

The remaining 20 teams compete utilizing the high-stakes Match Point Format.

• Advanced Starting Points: The 10 teams qualifying from the Winners Bracket receive a points advantage based on their placement seeding.

• The Match Point Rule:

  • There is no fixed limit on the number of matches played.

  • Once a team accumulates a minimum of 50 total points, they become "Match Point Eligible."

  • The tournament concludes immediately when a Match Point Eligible team wins a match, crowning them the Champion.

• Final Standings: Positions 2nd through 20th are ranked based on total points accumulated throughout the Finals.
