Capcom Cup 12

Phase 1: GSL-Style Groups

• Structure: 12 groups of 4 players each.

• Format: Each group plays a Double-Elimination Bracket (GSL-style group stage).

• Match Rules: All matches are contested as First-to-3 (Ft3).

• Advancement:

  • Group Winners (12 players): Advance directly to the Third Phase.

  • Group Runner-ups (12 players): Advance to the Second Phase.

  • Remaining Players: Immediately eliminated from the tournament.

Phase 2: Round-Robin Resurgence

• Structure: 4 groups of 3 players each (consisting of the 12 runner-ups from Phase 1).

• Format: Single Round-Robin (every player in the group plays each other once).

• Match Rules: All matches are contested as First-to-3 (Ft3).

• Advancement:

  • Group Winners (4 players): Advance to the Third Phase to fill the remaining bracket spots.

  • Remaining Players: Eliminated from the tournament.

Phase 3: The Finals Bracket

• Structure: A final 16-player bracket.

• Format: Strict Single-Elimination Bracket (no lower bracket lifeline; a single loss means elimination).

• Match Rules: Matches escalate to a grueling First-to-5 (Ft5) series to determine the world champion.
