BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen 2023

Play-In (April 24th – 27th, 2023)

• Format: 16 teams are divided into four GSL-style (Double-Elimination) groups of 4. Each group features teams from different competitive regions to ensure global variety.

• Match Rules:

  • Upper Bracket matches are played in a Best-of-1 (Bo1) format.

  • Lower Bracket matches are played in a Best-of-3 (Bo3) format.

• Progression: The top 2 teams from each group advance to Phase 2 (Playoffs).

Playoffs (April 29th – May 3, 2023)

• Format: A 16-Team Swiss System format where teams with identical win-loss records face off in each round.

• Seeding: Matchups and tiebreakers are determined dynamically using the Buchholz System.

• Match Rules:

  • Standard matches are played in a Best-of-1 (Bo1) format.

  • High-stakes Elimination and Qualification matches scale up to a Best-of-3 (Bo3) format.

• Progression: The top 8 teams who secure 3 wins advance to the Finals. Teams with 3 losses are eliminated.

Finals (May 5th – 7th, 2023)

• Format: A high-pressure, Single-Elimination bracket.

• Match Rules:

  • The Quarterfinals and Semifinals are played in a Best-of-3 (Bo3) format.

  • The Grand Final is contested in a Best-of-5 (Bo5) showdown with no upper-bracket map advantage.
