ALGS Championship 2021 - South America

1. The Group Stage

• Seeding: Teams are split into three distinct groups using a Snake Draft method based on their accumulated ALGS points.

• Schedule & Matchups: Over a 4-day period, each group faces every other group twice (first in a 6-game block, then in a 2-game block):

  • Day 1: Group B vs. Group C

  • Day 2: Group A vs. Group C

  • Day 3: Group A vs. Group B

  • Day 4: Group B vs. Group C | Group C vs. Group A | Group A vs. Group B

• Advancement:

  • The top-scoring team from each of the three groups automatically qualifies for the Finals (3 teams).

  • The remaining 17 spots are filled by the highest-scoring teams from the overall, combined leaderboard.

2. Point Distribution

• Following every match, teams earn points based on their placement and total kills, derived directly from the in-game post-match summary screen.

3. The Finals (Match Point Format)

• No Match Limit: The Finals do not have a fixed number of games; play continues until a champion is crowned.

• Match Point Eligibility: As soon as a team reaches a threshold of 50 total points during the Finals, they become "Match Point Eligible."

• Winning the Championship: The first team that is "Match Point Eligible" to win a match (secure 1st place) is immediately declared the Champion.

• Final Standings: Once the winner is decided, teams ranked 2nd through 20th are sorted strictly by their total accumulated Finals points. There is no cap on how many teams can become Match Point Eligible simultaneously.

4. Advanced Seeding Points

• Performance in the Group Stage provides a head start. The top 10 teams with the highest overall Group Stage scores kick off the Finals with a point advantage.
