Tournament Structure

• Type: Single Round-Robin.

• Players: 10 Grandmasters.

• Rounds: 9 rounds total (every player faces each other once).

Scoring System & Armageddon

Each matchup begins with a Classical Game:

• Classical Win:

  • Winner: 3 points

  • Loser: 0 points

• Classical Draw:

  • If the classical game ends in a draw, both players automatically move to an Armageddon Tiebreak Game on the same day.

  • Armageddon Winner: 1.5 points

  • Armageddon Loser: 0.5 points (shown as 1.5 - 0.5 in the standings)

Armageddon Game Rules

• White: Receives more time on the clock (usually 10 minutes) but must win the game.

• Black: Receives less time (usually 7 minutes) but only needs a draw or win to take the tiebreak victory.
