The Riyadh Masters 2024 tournament for Dota 2, held as part of the Electronic World Cup (EWC) events in Riyadh, witnessed a strong comeback from one of the top global teams to assert its dominance on the international stage.
Format
.Phase 1: Play-In
Dates: July 4 – July 7, 2024
- Format: Two groups of six teams each (Single Round-Robin).
- Match Type: All matches are Best-of-2 (Bo2).
- Advancement:
- Top 3 teams from each group advance directly to the Group Stage.
- 4th and 5th place teams enter a crossover "Decider" match (e.g., 4th Place Group A vs. 5th Place Group B).
- Decider Winners advance to the Group Stage; Losers are eliminated.
- Elimination: The bottom team (6th place) from each group is eliminated immediately.
Phase 2: Group Stage
Dates: July 10 – July 14, 2024
- Format: Two groups of eight teams each (Single Round-Robin).
- Match Type: All matches are Best-of-2 (Bo2).
- Playoff Seeding:
- Top 4 teams from each group advance to the Upper Bracket.
- 5th and 6th place teams advance to the Lower Bracket.
- Elimination: The bottom two teams (7th and 8th place) from each group are eliminated.
Phase 3: Playoffs
Dates: July 16 – July 21, 2024
- Format: Double-Elimination bracket.
- Match Type: * All series are Best-of-3 (Bo3).
- The Grand Final is a Best-of-5 (Bo5).
