The Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) 2025 Champions Clash is the premier international event for the mid-season, bringing together the elite teams from around the world to compete for the title of "Mid-Season Champion" in live matches that combine tactical strength and individual skill.
Format
### Tournament Format
- Bracket Style: Double Elimination (Winners and Losers brackets).
- Match Lengths:
- Upper Bracket Quarterfinals: First-to-2 (Ft2).
- General Matches: First-to-3 (Ft3).
- Grand Finals: First-to-4 (Ft4).
## Hero Ban System
The tournament employs a strategic ban phase before each map to challenge team adaptability:
- Global Impact: Each team bans one hero per map, and the ban applies to both teams for the duration of that map.
- Role Diversity: A team's ban must be from a different role (Tank, Damage, or Support) than the ban chosen by the opposing team.
- Series Constraints: * Teams cannot ban the same hero more than once in a single series.
- However, a team is permitted to ban a hero that their opponent has banned in a previous map.
- Ban Order:
- For the opening of the series, the higher-seeded team bans first.
- For subsequent maps, the team that lost the previous map earns the right to ban first.
