The ESL R1 x Gamers8 2023 tournament is a prominent international event in Sim Racing, held as part of the esports season "Gamers8" for 2023. The tournament was organized in collaboration between the Saudi Esports Federation and ESL FACEIT Group, and it came as a special and exceptional edition of the ESL R1 league based on the advanced simulation platform Rennsport.
Format
Day 1: Qualification Phase

Participant Field: A total of 48 drivers are divided equally into 4 groups of 12.

Race Format: Drivers in each group compete in 2 races to accumulate points based on their finishing positions.

Advancement: The top 12 drivers with the highest overall point totals across all groups advance to Day 2.

Tiebreaker Rule: In the event of a point tie, a shootout hotlap is triggered on a randomly selected track. The driver who records the fastest single lap time advances.
Day 2: The Finals & "Finalist Mode" Championship Decider

Cumulative Point Phase: The top 12 remaining drivers compete in an unlimited number of races to accumulate points.

Activating "Finalist Mode": The race series continues until one or more drivers reach a threshold of 80 points. Upon hitting this target, those drivers immediately unlock "Finalist Mode."

Championship Winning Condition: Merely having the most points does not secure the title. To be crowned the undisputed champion, a driver in "Finalist Mode" must win a subsequent race while the mode is active.
