ECS: Japan 2026 - TEKKEN
The ECS: Japan 2026 - TEKKEN tournament (which is part of the EVO Japan 2026 events and its regional qualifiers) is one of the strongest elite competitions for Tekken 8 in Asia for the year 2026. The tournament brings together the top fighting game professionals in the world, specifically from Japan, South Korea, and Pakistan, to compete for regional dominance and global qualification spots.
Format
1. Tournament Stages

UB Semifinals (Upper Bracket Semifinals): Players start in the winners side. Winners advance, and losers drop to the Lower Bracket (LB).

LB Quarterfinals & LB Semifinal: Knockout rounds where a single loss means complete elimination from the tournament.

Upper Bracket Final: iKARi defeated Hafiz Tanveer (3-1) to secure a direct spot in the Grand Final without losing a single set.

Lower Bracket Final: Knee defeated Hafiz Tanveer (3-0) to advance from the losers side into the Grand Final.
2. The Grand Final & Bracket Reset Rule
In a double-elimination tournament, a player must lose two entire match sets to be eliminated. This creates a specific scenario in the Grand Final between iKARi (from the Upper Bracket) and Knee (from the Lower Bracket):

Match Set 1 (The Reset): Since Knee came from the Lower Bracket, he had to defeat iKARi once just to take away his "extra life." As seen in the score, Knee won the first set 3-1. This is called "Resetting the Bracket" because both players now have exactly one tournament loss.

Match Set 2 (The Decider): After the bracket was reset, a final ultimate Best-of-5 match was played. In this final set, iKARi won 3-1, making him the overall champion of the tournament.
