Format

General Structure & Schedule

The Main Tournament operated as a high-velocity, point-based leaderboard competition played over a focused three-day weekend.

  • Duration: A 3-Day event running from August 11th to 13th, 2022.

  • Match Load: A total of 18 matches were played to determine the final standings, with a steady workload of 6 matches per day.

Team Distribution & Field Size

The competition gathered 18 elite rosters from around the globe, bypassing multi-group stages in favor of a direct, battle-royale showdown.

  • Format: Single-Lobby Format. All 18 teams dropped into the map and competed simultaneously in the exact same lobby across all 18 matches.

  • The Participants:

    • 17 Champion Teams: Directly qualified as the reigning champions from their respective regional official leagues.

    • 1 Host Country Invitee: Awarded directly to Saudi Arabia's premier roster, Team Falcons.

Scoring & High-Stakes Outcome

  • Scoring System: Teams accumulated cumulative points across all 18 matches based on their final In-Game Placement at the end of each round alongside individual Elimination/Kill Points.

  • The Top 5 Reward: While the team with the highest point total at the end of Match 18 claimed the PMWI Main Tournament trophy, the Top 5 teams on the final leaderboard earned direct qualification to the lucrative Week 2 Afterparty Showdown.
