The PUBG Global Series 8 2025 (PGS 8) tournament is a major global esports event (Tier-S) for the game "PUBG: Battlegrounds" in the first-person perspective (FPP) team format, organized by "PUBG Corporation" and held in person (Offline) in Shanghai, China from May 12 to May 18, 2025.

Format

Group Stage

  • Dates: May 12th – 14th, 2025

  • Format & Structure: 24 participating teams are split into 3 groups of 8. The stage is contested in a Round-Robin system where each group plays against the others ($A$ vs $B$, $B$ vs $C$, and $A$ vs $C$).

  • Match Distribution: Each group match-up consists of 6 matches, totaling 18 matches for the stage. This ensures every individual team plays exactly 12 matches.

  • Progression: Teams are ranked on a single leaderboard based on all 18 matches. The top 16 teams advance to the Grand Finals, while the bottom 8 teams are eliminated.

Grand Finals

  • Dates: May 16th – 18th, 2025
  • Format & Structure: The remaining 16 elite teams compete in a final single-lobby showdown.
  • Match Distribution: A total of 18 matches are played over 3 competition days.
  • Outcome: The team that tops the leaderboard at the end of the 18 matches is crowned the official PGS8 Champion.
