The Teamfight Tactics Paris Open (or the Paris Open Tournament for TFT) is one of the most prominent and largest open competitive events in the history of turn-based strategy esports related to the famous League of Legends game developed by Riot Games.
Format
Day 1: December 12th

Round 1: * Setup: 768 players are divided into 96 lobbies, competing across 4 games.

Progression: The top 2 players from each lobby automatically advance to Round 2.

Wildcard: The next top 64 highest-scoring players across all lobbies also advance to Round 2.

Day 2: December 13th

Round 2: * Setup: 256 players compete in 32 lobbies across 3 games.
- Progression: The top 4 players from each lobby advance to Round 3.

Round 3: * Setup: 128 players compete in 16 lobbies across 3 games.
- Progression: The top 4 players from each lobby advance to Round 4.

Round 4 (Checkmate Format): * Setup: 64 players compete in 8 lobbies using the Checkmate Format.

Rules: * Once a player reaches 20 points, they put the lobby "in check."

To win the lobby and advance, a player "in check" must win a subsequent game.

Multiple players can hold the lobby "in check" simultaneously.

If no player "in check" wins a game within 6 games, the player with the highest total points wins the lobby.

Progression: All lobby winners advance to the Final Lobby.

Day 3: December 14th

Final Lobby (Checkmate Format): * Setup: The final 8 players compete in a high-stakes Checkmate Format.

Rules: * Once a player reaches 20 points, they put the lobby "in check."

To secure the championship, a player "in check" must win a subsequent game.

Multiple players can hold the lobby "in check" simultaneously.

If no player "in check" wins a game within 8 games, the player with the highest overall points is crowned the champion.
