
ALGS: 2022 Championship
The ALGS 2022 Championship (Apex Legends Global Series: Year 2 Championship) is the final and largest event of the second season of the Apex Legends global tournament series. The tournament is organized by EA and Respawn Entertainment.
Format
Group Stage (July 7 – 8)

Format: 40 teams are split into four equal groups of 10.

Matches: Groups play a round-robin format, with each team competing in an 18-game total series (six games per group matchup).

Advancement: No teams are eliminated. All 40 teams move to the Bracket Stage based on their cumulative Group Stage Score:

Top 20 teams advance to the Winners Bracket.

Bottom 20 teams drop to Losers Bracket Round 1.

Bracket Stage (July 8 – 9)
Consists of 8-game series across both brackets to determine the final pool:

Winners Bracket: Top 10 teams advance directly to the Finals. The bottom 10 teams drop to Losers Bracket Round 2.

Losers Bracket Round 1: Top 10 teams advance to Losers Bracket Round 2. The bottom 10 teams are eliminated.

Losers Bracket Round 2: Top 10 teams advance to the Finals. The bottom 10 teams are eliminated.
Finals (July 10)
The remaining 20 teams compete using the Match Point format.

Seeding: The 10 teams qualifying from the Winners Bracket receive Advance Starting Points based on their bracket placement.

The Match Point Format:

No Match Limit: The finals continue until a champion is crowned.

Eligibility: Teams must hit a minimum threshold of 50 total points to become "Match Point Eligible."

Winning Condition: The first Match Point Eligible team to outright win a match is declared the Championship Winner.

Placements (2nd–20th): Once the winner is decided, all remaining teams are ranked strictly by their total accumulated points.
