ALGS Championship 2021 - EMEA
The ALGS Championship 2021 - EMEA is the grand finale and the most prestigious tournament of the first season of the global Apex Legends Championship Series in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. It took place online organized by EA and Respawn, and witnessed fierce competition among 40 teams (thanks to community support through in-game cosmetic bundles), culminating in SCARZ Europe being crowned the regional champions.
Format
Group Stage Structure
Teams are distributed into four distinct groups using a Snake Draft method based on their accumulated ALGS points.
The Group Stage spans three days, with each group competing against every other group in a 6-game series:
-
Day 1: Group A vs. Group B | Group C vs. Group D
-
Day 2: Group A vs. Group C | Group B vs. Group D
-
Day 3: Group A vs. Group D | Group B vs. Group C
Advancement Criteria:
-
The top-scoring team from each of the four groups automatically qualifies for the Finals (4 teams total).
-
The remaining 16 spots in the Finals are awarded to the highest-scoring teams across the overall, combined group stage leaderboard.
Scoring & Seeding
-
Match Scoring: At the conclusion of each match, teams earn points based on their placement and total kills (refer to the official Point Distribution table for details).
-
Finals Starting Points: The top ten (10) teams with the highest overall Group Stage Match Scores will receive head-start seeding points going into the Finals (refer to the Seeding Points table for details).
Finals: Match Point Format
The Finals do not have a fixed match limit. Instead, they utilize the Match Point system:
-
Threshold: A team must accumulate a minimum of 50 total points during the Finals to become "Match Point Eligible."
-
Winning Condition: Once a team is Match Point Eligible, they must win a subsequent match to be crowned the Champion.
-
Final Rankings: There is no cap on how many teams can become Match Point Eligible simultaneously. Once the champion secures the tournament-winning victory, positions 2nd through 20th are determined based on total overall points accumulated during the Finals.
