The Overwatch Champions Series 2024 - Korea Stage 1 (abbreviated as OWCS Korea Stage 1) is the historic opening phase of the strongest local and regional league for Overwatch 2 in South Korea for the year 2024.

Format

1. Group Stage

The tournament kicks off with a massive baseline battle where every match determines a team's path forward:

  • Format: A comprehensive Round Robin group stage.

  • The Stakes (The Great Divide):

    • Top 4 Teams: Advance to the prestigious Seeding Decider Matches.

    • Next 4 Teams (5th - 8th): Dropped into the high-pressure Last Chance Qualifier.

    • Bottom Team: Instantly eliminated from the tournament.

2. The Mid-Stage Gauntlets

While the top teams fight for playoff priority, the middle-tier teams fight for their tournament lives:

  • Seeding Decider Matches: The top 4 Group Stage teams face off in a Round Robin group. While all 4 are guaranteed a spot in the Playoffs, the top 2 teams score a massive advantage by securing a first-round playoff bye.

  • Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ): A brutal, unforgiving Double Elimination bracket. There is zero room for error, as only the top 2 teams survive the lower bracket climb to claim the final tickets to the Playoffs.

3. Playoffs

The tournament reaches its absolute peak in a high-stakes, ruthless Single Elimination bracket where regional dominance and global qualification are on the line:

  • The Global Prizes:

    • The top 3 teams lock in their spots and advance directly to the Stage 1 Main Event.

    • The 4th place team is thrown a lifeline, advancing to the Wild Card stage for one last shot at glory.
