The Flash Ops Holiday Showdown - APAC Finals is one of the strongest and most enjoyable official community tournaments organized by Blizzard as a competitive game at the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024. This tournament came as part of a series of competitive events to fill the void left by the suspension of the Overwatch League (OWL), bringing together the elite clubs from the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region for highly exciting battles.

Format

🎮 Tournament Format & Team Distribution

1. Qualified Teams (Regional Allocation)

A total of 6 elite teams qualify for the APAC Finals based on their regional knockout performance:

  • Korea: Top 3 teams from the Korea Knockouts.

  • Japan: Top 2 teams from the Japan Knockouts.

  • Southeast Asia (SEA): Top 1 team from the SEA Knockouts.

2. The Group Stage — December 8th – 9th, 2023

  • Format: The 6 qualifying teams are split evenly into two groups of three teams each, competing in a Round Robin system.

  • Match Rules: Intense competitive settings where all matches are played as a First-to-3 (Ft3) map wins series.

  • Progression: The top 2 teams from each group survive the group stage and successfully advance to the Playoffs.

3. The Playoffs — December 10th, 2023

  • Format: A ruthless Single Elimination knockout bracket featuring the 4 advancing teams. There is no safety net or lower bracket.

  • Match Rules:

    • Semifinals: Played as a First-to-3 (Ft3) map wins series.

    • Grand Finals: The ultimate championship showdown escalates to an extended First-to-4 (Ft4) map wins series to crown the APAC champion.
