Elite League Season 1
The Elite League Season 1 tournament is the inaugural and most thrilling stage of the new global elite series for the game Dota 2 in 2024.
Format
1. Team Allocation
A total of 24 elite teams enter the arena, split into distinct tiers based on their path to the tournament:
-
16 Swiss Stage Contenders: 9 battle-tested survivors from the Closed Qualifiers join 7 directly invited powerhouse teams to fight from the very bottom.
-
8 Round-Robin Elite: 8 top-tier invited teams receive a massive advantage, seeded directly into the second phase of the tournament.
2. Swiss Stage (Group Stage 1)
The tournament kicks off with a ruthless 16-team modified Swiss-system gauntlet:
-
Match Performance: Teams must endure intense, full-scale Best-of-3 (Bo3) series.
-
The Cut: Only the top 8 teams who secure enough victories survive the grinder and advance. The bottom 8 are instantly eliminated.
3. Round-Robin Stage (Group Stage 2)
The 8 Swiss stage survivors smash head-on into the 8 waiting elite seeds, forming two single round-robin groups of 8 teams each:
-
Match Performance: Strategic and grueling Best-of-2 (Bo2) series where map differential is everything.
-
The Playoff Seeding:
-
Top 2 teams from each group secure the ultimate safety net, advancing to the Playoffs Upper Bracket.
-
3rd and 4th place teams from each group survive but are dropped into the high-pressure Playoffs Lower Bracket.
-
The bottom 4 teams from each group are eliminated.
-
4. Playoffs
The absolute peak of the tournament shifts to a high-stakes, Double-Elimination bracket where strategic mastery takes center stage:
-
The Bracket Run: Teams fight through a safety net or a sudden-death climb, with all standard matches played as Best-of-3 (Bo3) series.
-
The Grand Final: The two ultimate titans clash in an epic, exhausting Best-of-5 (Bo5) marathon to claim the Elite League crown.
