The Paris Rapid & Blitz 2018 tournament is the second round and the main event of the Grand Chess Tour 2018. The tournament took place in the French capital, Paris, featuring 10 of the world's elite chess players.

Format

Rapid (June 20th – 22nd)

  • Format: Single round-robin

  • Time Control: 25 minutes + 10-second increment per move (25+10)

  • Scoring System: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss

Blitz (June 23rd – 24th)

  • Format: Double round-robin

  • Time Control: 5 minutes + 3-second increment per move (5+3)

  • Scoring System: 1 point for a win, 0.5 points for a draw, 0 points for a loss
